How to know if it’s a good ballet school?

a good ballet school meets your child’s needs

The ballet classes at Tiny Toes Ballet are based on the Royal Academy of Dance’s International Curriculum. As a result, our ballet classes address young children’s cognitive, motor and effective development. We use age-appropriate music and choreography. Movement is the medium through which creativity, expression and musicality are developed. There is no set uniform at Tiny Toes Ballet, so your child is welcome to wear what makes them feel comfortable. Fairy dress, dress up costume, leotard and skirt or bike pants and t-shirt.

a good ballet school offers a stress-free experience

Tiny Toes Ballet offers a range of ballet classes in the morning and afternoons throughout the school term. All our facilities are located near cafes, shopping centres and parking. There is no pressure at Tiny Toes Ballet.  If you’re looking for a relaxed, fun and imaginative introduction to dance for your child, then Tiny Toes Ballet may be the right fit for you. You won’t feel like you’re just a number. You will be joining the Tiny Toes family.

a good ballet school has highly trained & caring staff

All teachers at Tiny Toes Ballet are fully trained in the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Every one of our staff has a Working with Children Check. Our teachers love and adore the little children in their lives, supervising them from the time they enter the class until they hand them back to their parents.

a good ballet school has capped classes

To create the best learning environment for our kids, Tiny Toes Ballet caps classes at 13 students with 1 teacher or 16 students with 2 teachers. Capped class numbers ensure individual student attention & increases student achievement.

a good ballet school offers a varied programme

The syllabus at Tiny Toes Ballet has imagination as its theme and is designed to engage and stimulate your child’s creativity and self-expression. The programming is so clever, using lots of imagery, props, little rhymes and games that teach the fundamentals of ballet. There is also school readiness/reinforcement; lining up, making a circle, taking turns, counting, following directions. The kids are learning ballet without realising it.

For our Kindy & Year 1 students we offer Primary Dance Academy. These classes are based on the Royal Academy of Dance’s International Curriculum. The classes are specially aimed at school level. Our ongoing teacher training and quarterly updates to our programme ensure a high standard of technique that we are justifiably proud of.

This formal programme enables our teachers to create strong and confident little dancers. As a result, we teach flexibility, technique and dance class etiquette with age appropriate music and dance steps. This ballet class challenges students technically whilst learning the joy of ballet and jazz.

a good ballet school has a gorgeous concert

At Tiny Toes Ballet, our end of year graduation concert is magical. You can bring as many family and friends as you like without having to pay for seats. In addition, you are welcome to take photos and videos of your own child. Your child’s concert will be held in the last lesson of Term 4 during your child’s usual class time, day and venue.

The dancers wear a beautifully themed age-appropriate tutu and have fun showing off the dances they have learnt during the term. And because your child is perfect just the way they are, they do not need to wear makeup.

a good ballet school offers makeup lessons

Miss a class? No problem, Tiny Toes Ballet offers 2 makeup lessons per term.

a good ballet school supports the community

A cause close to our hearts is Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic illness that affects 1 in 2,500 babies born in Australia. There is no cure at present and people with cystic fibrosis have to undergo constant physiotherapy and treatment throughout their lives. A portion of each child’s registration fees is donated to Cystic Fibrosis NSW. Throughout each year we hold fundraising concerts, crazy sock days and other activities to raise money and awareness of this life-threatening illness.

We hope that one day, CF stands for Cure Found!
