From Mum to Teacher

I am Laura. Some of you may know me as Miss Laura as I have the pleasure of teaching some of your very gorgeous children.

My journey with Tiny Toes Ballet began several years ago when I walked into my first ‘Dance With Mummy’ class with my then two year old. Having been a dancer for the best part of three decades and a ballet teacher for 15 years I had done my research and picked what I considered to be the best preschool dance programme available for my little ballerina. Needless to say I was not disappointed. In fact, I loved the programme so much, that I am now one of Tiny Toes Ballet’s senior teachers and let me tell you, I have the best job in the world.

So I guess some of you may be wondering why I chose Tiny Toes Ballet over the other programmes available in our area. The biggest draw card for me was that Tiny Toes Ballet are affiliated with the Royal Academy of Dance (also known as the RAD) which is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organisations in the world. It has over 13,000 members spread across 83 countries and the Academy’s patron is none other than Her Majesty herself Queen Elizabeth II, so it could easily be said that the royal grandchildren and great grandchildren are probably learning the same syllabus that is being taught to my own daughter at Tiny Toes Ballet.

internationally recognised, time-honoured, comprehensive curriculum

The Royal Academy of Dance offers an internationally recognised, time-honoured, comprehensive curriculum, grounded in educational and developmental theory. Students start with the Dance to Your Own Tune curriculum, which is what we deliver in our Tiny Toes Ballet classes. They then move through the Pre-Primary and Primary levels which we deliver in our Primary Dance Academy programme.

But it doesn’t end there, upon graduating from Tiny Toes Ballet, our students are well equipped to go on to attend higher dance training organisations where they can continue to study the Royal Academy of Dance’s eight graded and six vocational graded levels partaking in internationally recognised examinations and assessments.

I could go on but I will wrap it up here. From one mum to another mum who just happens to be a qualified ballet teacher, trust me when I tell you that you have chosen the best possible program for your little one to start their journey in dance. A journey that I hope will bring a lifetime of enjoyment and appreciation of the art of ballet.
