How do I do a ballet bun?

Sydney's Best ballet teachers

When it’s time for a concert performance or if you want your little preschooler to feel and act like a ‘real’ ballerina, a ballet bun will put her in the mood. It’s just like wearing her ballet shoes and a gorgeous tutu to ballet class! We also love for all of our Primary Dance Academy students (Kindy and Year 1 students) to wear a ballet bun to each and every class. If you dress like a ballerina, you act like a ballerina!

Our gorgeous Miss Laura will show you all the tips and tricks on how to do the perfect ballet bun!

tiny toes ballet’s top tips for a ballet bun

  • The less clean your kid’s hair is, the easier it will slick. Avoid washing your child’s hair the day before.
  • Ensure the ponytail is tight. If it is loose, the ballet bun pins won’t hold and the ballet bun will fall out.
  • Use water to slick the hair first. Use gel and/or hairspray once the hair has been slicked with water.
